Each year since 1993 at the end of March the Jožef Stefan Institute organises the “Days of Jožef Stefan” to popularise science and to mark the birthday of this great Slovenian physicist. This year’s 32nd edition, which took place from 18 to 23 March 2024, offered 11 events over six days: 4 expert lectures, 3 round tables, the award ceremony of the Jožef Stefan Gold Label, a stand-up show of experiments, the opening of an exhibition, and a meeting of young people. Each of the events was well attended with a total of more than 3,000 visitors.
The events also presented the work of members of the SLING consortium, which conducts research at the Institute in areas that rely heavily on the use of supercomputing resources. Visitors were able to learn about different areas such as experimental particle physics, theoretical physics, knowledge technology and artificial intelligence, fusion, reactor physics, reactor engineering, knowledge technology and artificial intelligence.
