The 30th Slovenian Information Science Days conference was held on 9 and 10 May 2023 in the Bernardin congress centre in Portorož. The event was organised by the Slovenian Society for Information Science, for the first time in cooperation with the Ministry for Digital Transformation. In this way, the content of two conferences, Slovenian Information Science Days and Information Science in Public Administration, was combined into one event. According to the organisers, the main idea of this year’s conference was, in the light of the mission of information science: “Co-creating a digital Slovenia”, how to use digitisation to develop sustainable and environmentally efficient solutions that contribute to Slovenia’s progress. The conference included round tables, lectures, speed dating between companies and public administration and students, a brokerage event for public administration and companies, a presentation of student projects and a student award ceremony.
On the second day of the conference, Arnes also participated in the section “Technologies and applications of digitisation”. In its presentation “Supercomputing and Open Science in the Slovenian Space”, it highlighted the integration of supercomputing and open science and the services of the national HPC Competence Centre – EuroCC@SLING and the role of the SLING consortium.
